  1. Hat

We use this one to cover our head from the sun or any other thing that can hit or harm our head. According to the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary 9th, a hat is a covering made to fit the head, often with a brim. It is called in French chapeau or casquette.

A suit is a set of cloth made of the same cloth, including a jacket and a pair of trousers. A suit is usually worn for a particular activity: business; meeting, conference…

In French, the best translation of ‘suit’ is ‘costume’.

 

  1. Skirt

A skirt is a piece of clothing for women or girls that hangs from the waist. Its translation, in French is jupe.

A shirt is a piece of clothing, worn on the upper part of the body, made up of light cloth, with sleeves and usually with a collar. A shirt is typically worn by men. In French, we call it chemise (manche longue/courte).

It is always written in plural form. Trousers or pants is a piece of clothing that covers the body from the waist down and is divided into two for each leg. A pair of trousers is called din French une paire de pantalon.
